Bight: A loop or slack curve in a rope.

Lead: The direction in which a rope runs.

Parachute Cord: A military grade of cord made primarily for use in construction of parachutes. Commonly called 550 Cord, Paracord, or Parachute Cord it is a tightly twisted core of 5 to 8 nylon strands covered by a braded outer sheath covering of woven nylon.
